Community Development Block Grant Program

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is a flexible program that provides communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs. National objectives of the CDBG program include:

Benefit to low- and moderate-income households
Prevention or elimination of slums or blight
Address community development needs with a particular urgency that pose an immediate threat to health and welfare of communities

Franklin County has offered a variety of CDBG-funded programs, including urgent home repairs, down payment assistance programs, microenterprise loans and business development programs, housing retention, and sidewalk and other infrastructure programs to benefit low- and moderate-income communities. Community Development Collaborative Funding

The Community Development Collaborative recently released the 2019 Operating Support and Housing Production Grant Application. Grants will be awarded to increase the programmatic and organizational capacity of sustainable CHDOs and CDCs to develop new and/or rehabbed affordable housing units targeted to low and moderate income households
