Community Development Block Grant Program
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is a flexible program that provides communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs. National objectives of the CDBG program include:
- Benefit to low- and moderate-income households
- Prevention or elimination of slums or blight
- Address community development needs with a particular urgency that pose an immediate threat to health and welfare of communities
Franklin County has offered a variety of CDBG-funded programs, including urgent home repairs, down payment assistance programs, microenterprise loans and business development programs, housing retention, and sidewalk and other infrastructure programs to benefit low- and moderate-income communities.
