Conservation Development Zoning Regulations
Franklin County planners, along with a wide range of stakeholders, are drafting an amendment to the Franklin County Zoning Resolution to establish conservation development zoning regulations. Conservation Development regulations allow responsible development while protecting environmental features.
These regulations are part of the Big Darby Accord's implementation phase. The Ohio EPA Water Quality Management Plan also requires jurisdictions to adopt conservation development regulations.
These regulations will apply in the Big Darby watershed portions of unincorporated Brown and Pleasant Townships. In the future, the option of conservation development will be expanded to the remainder of unincorporated Franklin County
We have assembled a wide range of stakeholders to provide input on these regulations. This project began in September 2012 and remains ongoing.

Once the draft regulations are developed, we will hold a series of public information sessions and formal public hearings. We will post the schedule when it is available.
